ADOPT A DOG
Please check our facebook page to see who's currently adoptable.
THE ADOPTION PROCESS
Steps to Adoption:
1. Fill out our online application form here. If you'd prefer a PDF version of our form, you can download it here.
2. Once your completed application has been received and reviewed, we'll be in touch. Applicants deemed a suitable match for the dog will be interviewed. You'll have the opportunity during the interview to get detailed information about the dog.
3. After your initial interview and if we think you're a suitable match with the dog, we'll put you in touch with the dog's foster for a meet-and-greet.
4. Adoptions are completed by a home check, an adoption contract, and an adoption fee.
5. Don't forget to license your dog upon adoption :)
Adoption Fees:
Running a rescue is very expensive. All of our dogs are transported, fed, vetted, vaccinated, and provided with gear (crate, leash, and collar) while in foster care.
Many of the dogs entering our rescue are left abandoned in shelters, turned out of their homes because they are sick or dying. Owners often leave their sick dogs because they simply cannot afford to pay for vet care. Other dogs are found injured and dying on the side of roads or roaming as starving and terrified strays. We care about these dogs. We want to continue our good work by saving dogs needing extensive vet care. As such, in our rescue, dogs are not priced individually based on their health. The rescue is run as a collective whole.
To prevent any confusion, please ask your rescue co-ordinator ahead of meeting a dog about the adoption fee for the dog you are interested in. It is the adopter's responsibility to only proceed with an adoption if they accept and can afford the adoption fee. The adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is collected in total before the adoption is complete. The Society does not accept cheques. Payment can be made through e-transfer made to [email protected]. The Society does not accept adoption fees in instalments.
All gear for the dog you want to adopt must be provided by you, the adopter. The rescue's gear is re-used for new dogs entering foster care.
Our prices are fair and non-negotiable. You are not obliged to adopt a dog if you feel the adoption fee is too high.
Once adopted, the adoption fee is non-refundable.
